Todd Stogner: Video games have been shown to enhance Brain functions and spacial recognition abilities, amongst other things. There definitely seem to be some benefits aside from funThey can become an unhealthy habit when you spend too much time on them as with anything else moderation is keyP.S. Isaias Badgley: maplestoryrunescape
Pearlie Medora: In truth no Online MMO is entirely free they all have an agenda and its always to get you hooked then take your money because you know no better. Seeing as how you are going to be forced to pay anway (an! d trust me you well get the urge to pay for some of the extra stuff tha! ts not given to non paying customers) i advice you buy guildwars it has no monthly fee. Or if you stop being cheap get World of Warcraft which i play HORDE DRUIDS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ofelia Kieck: They are healthy in moderation as anything is in life. They actually make surgeons better at what they do. Recent reseach states that video games help in increasing eyesight by 20% and motor unit skills such as surgery.
Cletus Makler: I love The Movies Game, where you can either run a studio business unlock things and such, but ALSO in freeform "sandbox" mode you can make a huge range of movies. There are quite a few on youtube so you can see what sort of stuff it does, and read reviews. You CAN have ghosts and zombies, but by choice. You could easily make an action, comedy, sci-fi, tragedy movie instead if you don't like horror, with costumes such as normal clothes, army outfits, and aliens. An example of some of many movies I made (to show the stuff you can do with the! game): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZvbURPNJls
Garry Ohmen:
Natalya Sydney: It's not an online game and it's kind of old but it's got tons of mods you can install. Oblivion, hands down, the best RPG that exists. Janeen Perona: They can be healthy if done in moderation. Playing video games is much better for your brain than watching T.V. I used to play all the Kings Quest games as a kid and I really started to think critically about things and examine the world more closely. Some people say that playing video games helps greatly with your fine motor control, but recently I've seen evidence that it may not help as much as previously though. I'm a Kindergarten teacher and have a boy who did nothing but play video games. He had no fine motor control, couldn't hold a pencil at all and I almost lost my fingers several times trying to help him use scissors. But this may be an extreme case because I believe this little one may also be autistic. I! 've also seen Kindergarteners who are deeply disturbed because of the kinds of games they played. I had one that played games like Grand Theft Auto and Halo and he had no sense of reality. He would flip out on me some days thinking blood was bursting from his stomach. He would have regular strange fits like this. He also thought there were monsters hiding behind every corner. Children this young can't generally distinguish between reality and fiction. Ask a Star Wars fanatic Kindergartener and they will tell you that there are spaceships and aliens roaming outerspace. But I've also seen a lot of benefits from video games with my students as long as the parents stick to age appropriate games. I think a lot of video games made for young children actually help them more academically than anything else. If you have a young one, put them on http:///www.starfall.com and see how much they pick up. When it comes down to the violent games, I think that once you get to a ce! rtain age, as long as the person isn't disturbed, they are not going to! necessarily turn that person towards violent acts. I play some violent video games ( I do stay away from the extra gross ones) and I don't think I've been desensitized from them.
