Newtons laws of motion+safety features of a car?

Tobie Oshea: Newton's first law states that an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Now let's say that you're driving 80 miles per hour and you suddenly hit a brick wall (not to jynx you or anything... =P). Although your car will come to a complete stop, you will still want to keep moving at that speed of 80 miles per hour. Without a seat belt or anything, you would simply go flying through your windshield and crash into the brick wall yourself. However, thanks to the safety features, it prevents you from flying out of your seat....Show more

Rena Pepe: because when u apply brakes u r thrown forward as stated by newton's first law which can be prevented by a seat belt

Dee Depung: Let's keep the ***-holes out of the topic k? This is a place where to ask/answer questions, so if you got a problem with that leave plz kthxbb

Bernadette Roel: Do you have a text book? can you read? can you think? quit whining about your teacher! ! she/he wants you to figure things out and just repeat what he/she said in class. Grow up, will ya?

Arlen Hamper: the first law states that an object will continues its state of rest or uniform motion unless a resultant force aacts in it.therefoe when the car brakes, the passenger in the car will continue to move forward and crash into the windscreen. therefore the seatbelts are there to stop the motionthe third law states that if body a exerts a force on body b, then body b will exerts an equal but opposite force on body a. the seatbelts are design in such a way that it is able to exert a force on the passenger but not break...Show more

Venetta Coulbourne: I hope this helps..all my answers are based on newton's second law of motion.. a) seat belts and airbags- delay the change of momentum rate so that injury is minimised if crash does occurb) frontal and back bumper ( rubber made) increases the time of crash, to lower the impulse force..c) reinforced passenger! seat - protects the driver and passengersd) inflatable steeri! ng ( it exists! - only in high profile cars) - same as (a)...Show more

Connie Dickirson: prefer for cars having light weight , use of better shock absorbers then look for its aerodynamic shape so thata sppeed is faster even for lower speed((not newtons law))apart from pondering upon newtons law some otherr reasons may be prefer for long cars as compared to shorter cars as in accidents toppling is prevented....also prefer to do you homework yorself...Show more
