Selling Car on Ebay Please Help!?

Monroe Rainey: No Checks or Money Orders. Either have them transfer the money directly into your account, or have them meet you at your bank. Most people are a little skittish about carrying a large amount of cash around and there is always the possibility that you could be "carjacked'" once the payment is handed over and you have given them the title. As far as the paperwork, you (once paid) sign and date the title. You should also provide a copy of a bill of sale for you and the buyer. It should contain the date, VIN of the vehicle, your name and signature and that of the buyer. Make sure to state the vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty implied or expressed. Some states require turn in of the plates. I suggest calling the DMV to make sure you comply with state laws....Show more

Donnie Bolio: All you need is Title/Bill of sale. Ask for cashHave a witness & meet at a public place. Starbuck/Mcdonalds etc. Get cash, count it. Hand over title & sign it over to buyer! , hand buyer keys. Shake hands & you and your witness leave....Show more

Betsey Copp: Oh deficient you! - I take it you'll must pay to relist this object? That is why alot of individuals most effective promote to consumers with 10+ suggestions - I am fortunate to have offered 2 autos on Ebay now and had no hindrance in any respect. Hope all is going good for you x

Marion Wieboldt: Steps:1. Set up a meeting time/place with the winner.... could be your home, McDonalds parking lot, etc. 2. Buyer will request a test drive and maybe even bring a mechanic. Go along for the test drive. 3. Take the cash payment from buyer. Don't accept personal checks, cashiers check or money order. Counterfeits can easily be printed out on a computer. Skip this step if they paid by Pay Pal. 4. Sign over the title but tear off the 'Release of Liability' form and fill it out. You will need to file this immediately with DMV, otherwise if something happens like an accident you will be leg! ally responsible....Show more

Jestine Osumi: YIKES!!!!!!! !!!You should NOT have listed the car for sale until you had all this figured out. Imagine you buying something expensive on e-bay and the seller has no clue how to complete the transaction. You would not be very impressed, would you?For starters, go to your state's DMV website and see what they say about selling a car. Each state has its own regulations and requirements. Go to your local DMV office if that's more convenient. Did you read this? http://pages.motors.ebay.com/howto/selling.htmlIf not, read it now. If so, read it again. You are going to have to figure out how to accept payment. I would NOT accept a cashiers check unless I knew it was legit. Anyone can go to Walmart, buy a $79 color printer and start printing fake bank checks. Paypal? Someone is going to have to pay them their 3% commission fee, will that be you? I'd strongly suggest dealing in CASH ONLY unless you can accompany the buyer to their bank to cash a check. I know someone who bought a u! sed car from out of state recently, went to get the car and paid 10 grand cash. That's the way to do it.Have a bill of sale ready to go and the title in hand. You and the buyer will have to figure out how to transport the car to them and who pays for that if it goes by truck. That's about all I can think of. Good luck, hope it goes well for you....Show more
